I like that piece, it looks a lot like traditional ikons or South American retablos. Anyway, the marginalia is very inspired and it has a lot of attention to detail. That figure really reminds me of living in Asia and seeing the dried squid sold outdoors on carts throughout the city. I never imbibed, as the fly count was rather too high for me: Cthulhu on a stick. You can see the similarity to this image
